Drusy is a gemstone with a natural surface texture much like fine sugar crystals. Formed by a phenomena of micro-crystalline facets millions of years ago, drusy is the result of dissolved silica carried by ground water deposited in the porous areas of quartz. Drusy quartz ranges from bright white to tones of pink, yellow and violet. The variety of beautiful colors is from a special process in which the drusy is vapor-coated with titanium or other precious metals.

Drusy is believed by many to be associated with peace, tranquility, patience, intuition, unconditional love.

Drusy quartz is rated at 7 on the Mohs scale of hardness and is best suited for pendants, brooches, and earrings rather than rings and bracelets, because of the concern of the drusy being detached.
