Gift for Sister I purchased this necklace in-store for my sister. She was expecting to have a baby in February and I thought it would be a nice surprise. It's a beautiful necklace and way more for my dollar than I thought I'd get. The only problem is she didn't have the baby this month! Will exchange it for a March birthstone. Great buy. Beautiful setting! While the setting and stone were beautiful, the color of the amethyst was very light purple. The pictures shows a deep purple stone. I know amethyst has many shades of purple, but I was expecting a deeper, richer color. Also the chain is very thin and will break easily. I am giving another chain with this gift that will be more substantial. My daughter will love it, but I am a sure she will say something about the light color. She is a purple princess and has many amethyst pieces all a dark purple. Overall, it is a beautiful piece. December 16, 2009
